HPLIP

i need to install hp psc 1310 series driver for Eee pc series

I cannot print from the Asus Eeec pc series to the hp psc 1315 all-in-one printer. It's operating system is linux. Do I need to install the driver online? I have already installed the printer but nothing seems to be happening. I simply get a reading that the printer is busy.

Grazie per l'aiuto!

Could you tell me how do I get root access? In order to follow the procedures to manually build and install HPLIP for Asus EeePc I require root access. By the way, given that I am rather ignorant about IT terminology etc what exactly is "root access"? Is it access to the OS and then you write in the commands given in the instructions? Thank you again!!

Jeremias,

Yeah "root access" is the ability to install applications or manage the system. Eee PC uses Xandros so to get to root access more than likely you'll run terminal and then run "su" and enter your user password.
