Please do NOT install HPOJ. HPOJ is very old and not supported by HPLIP and will actually cause problems with HPLIP.

You can try using the manual install instructions for fedora:

http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/manual/distros/fedora_core.html

However I can't get to linpus.com right now to be able to provide more detailed instructions. Soon as their site is working again I'll work on creating some more specific install instructions for linpus.

As for running terminal, if you are getting an error command not found then you are probably already in terminal. Try running:

cat /etc/issue

and post the output.

Also as for "network" that means your internet connection.

thank you very much-  somehow i managed to get it installed after some trial and error- i believe I ended up installing it with fedora.  and it somehow worked! but if you could still send me the instructions just in case something goes wrong that would be wonderful!
Thank you so much

We're recently released a package for the Acer Aspire One (Linpus)
system. You can get more information about the package here:

http://hplipopensource.com/node/324

For instructions on downloading and installing go here:

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/linpus.html

We appreciate any feedback and apologize for the delay in this solution.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.
