No driver for HP D2460 in SuSe 11

Asked by Gratuitus

Cannot establish communications with printer to print test pages, or anything else. Printer type is detected, and model ID code displayed in a window, but the driver listings shows no known compatible printer, VIS: D2420, D2430, D2460 D2468. I am unable to read the driver compatibility listings showing which hplip version will do-damaged master document viewed on screen,or it isn't listed there????? tks. This used to work ok on 10.3, & I don't partic want to go back.

Did you install HPLIP to your suse 11 system? It seems like there is a problem either with the pre-installed hplip with suse or with your HPLIP install. Either way deleting and re-installing HPLIP should resolve this.

Use Yast to uninstall hplip and hplip-data

Then run:

su -c "rm -rf /usr/share/hplip"

Then install the latest hplip from http://hplip.sf.net using the automatic installer.

Q.
does this mean it's preset to print colour and black as needed, or is only one cartridge configured? I could check but I'm a litle scared. I did turn off all my repositories to do this, I hope now to be able to turn them all back on again. Pls advise.
