HP LaserjetP1102w won't work on 16.04LTS

Asked by WLB

I recently updated to 16.04LTS on my desktop. I have had this printer for years and have used it with previous versions of Ubuntu since 2010. I tried to install this printer on my laptop with 16.04 and it would not install there either. I was able to install this printer on a Windows laptop after downloading the CD and the printer worked fine. There are no issues with the printer, the issues are with 16.04. I tried using the command below to no avail:
sudo -i
apt-get update
apt-get install --reinstall hplip
hp-setup -i

Is there any way to install the drivers so that I may use my printer?

Thank you.

Hi,

It seems you are not running the file from the location where it is downloaded. The package will be downloaded in you Download folder. Just go to the folder using command "cd Downloads" and then run the file "sh hplip-3.16.10.run".

Hope this will solve the problem

Regards,
Ajay
