HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1606d always prints in duplex

Asked by François Isabelle

Hi.

Ubuntu 14.04 with HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.15.4)
The printer works ok, but I can't disable duplex printing.
Also, the hplip installer complains that cups-ddk is missing, however, the current package in Ubuntu 14.04 is called cupsddk, so wonder if this could be at cause.
I checked and double checked that it's disabled in the application.
Other options, like margin and DPI settings seems to work fine.

Please help and/or fix.

Hi,

Can you please disable the duplexer unit from cups interface (http://localhost:631 )

1) Open http://localhost:631 in the browser.
2) Go to printers and then select the printer.
3) Default options -> Options Installed -> Duplexer -> Not Installed.
4) Now try printing from any application.

Hope this helps

Thanks and Regards

Unfortunately, this option does not show up in the menu:

However, I have the following displayed already:

Description:HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1606dn_latest
Location:

Driver:HP LaserJet 4Si Foomatic/ljet4d (grayscale, 2-sided printing)

Connection:hp:/net/HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1606dn?ip=192.168.1.14
Defaults:job-sheets=none, none
media=na_letter_8.5x11in
sides=one-sided
I just noticed the driver is explicitely listed as "2-sided printing)...
