Install HP Officejet 5740 using HPLIP

Hello,
i am using LINUX UBUNTU 14.04 and i need to install HP OFFICEJET 5740. The printer is connected by USB cable.
I installed the printer using the system setting>printer>add however the printing is not good (it is too small and shifted towards the bottom right) and actually the exact name of the printer was not in the list (there was instead j5740). when i try to use HPLIP 3.14 no printer is identified from the HP device manager>setup device>USB
I ran the hp-check -t and the result is:
No Scanner found.
No devices [USB] found.

Dear Ani,
I know the model is installed and as I said i have hplip version
3.14.3 yet the software does not recognize the printer although it is
plugged to the USB port bus 2 device 4. I reinstalled HPLIP 3.14.3
twice using the software centre and 3.15 from terminal but my
superuser password is not recognized thus i can't install it. also my
password is not recognized from the CUPS website so essentially the
printer is there but dead.

Hi,

As I mentioned, HP Officejet 5740 is supported in HPLIP-3.14.10 release and only if this version or later is installed, you can use this device. Super user password is required to install HPLIP.

Please note, HP Officejet j5700 Series and HP Officejet 5740 are different devices.
