I have installed the PPD but still having problems in LibreOffice.
Printing from Chrome works just as it should. Could I have something wrong
with my setup?

Hi Brent,

Are you able to set the duplex option as Long-Edge binding/Short-Edge binging in File->Print-> Properties->Paper->Duplex and duplex as Installed in Device tab of the queue properties tab ?
Can you provide us some details on how you are setting duplex option in LibreOffice for printing.
Also provide us the output of hp-check command.

Thanks,
Goutam

I have chosen the Long Edge paper option and then set
File->Printer->Printer->Properties->Duplex (which is checked when I go back
to it,and Printer Properties Duplex to
duplex which isn't set again when I go back to it; How do set anything in
the queue? I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I have an hp icon in the status
bar and nothing appears to be a queue. Nor can I find anything about a
queue when I go to System Settings->Printers. Attached is the output files
from hp-setujp.

Hi Brent,

You cannot attach files in launchpad question.
Let try deleting the print queue associated with printer p1606dn in "system-config-printer" and reconfigure the print queue using command 'hp-setup'.

Now open the file that you want to print duplex in LibreOffice application.
Go to File -> Print
Select the print queue created using hp-setup.
Click on the Properties.
Select Paper to be "A4 Autoduplex"
Select Duplex to "Long Edge (Standard)"
Go to Device tab
Click on "duplex installed" on left column and select "installed" in right column.
Press "ok"
Now Press "ok" in main window to print.

Please let us know if this helped to print duplex.

If the issue still exits , run command "sudo hp-logcapture" in terminal. This tool will help to capture the log file and generate a tar file . Please attach the captured log files in the link https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/255517/+makebug.

Thanks,
Goutam
