Hi John Spiesberge,

Which Linux distro is installed in your system?

I think, some other package also needs to be installed (this varies from distro to distro. e.g. in Ubuntu hplip, hplip-gui packages needs to be installed)along with hplip-gui.

Please install latest @ http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html
If you find any issue, please let us know.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath

HI,

I had installed the latest hplip. I could not un-install it as I
explained in my first message, because
it appears that the instructions for un-installing were incomplete. I
am running Ubuntu 12.04.
I need to know how to un-install all of what I installed.

thank you.

Hi,

Can you try following.

=> Download and install the latest HPLIP release from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html

(Installer (.run file) will ask for the un-installing older HPLIP version also)

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
=> system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
=> sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
=> hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.

Can you help with this problem?
