printer problem HP LaserJet CP1025 color

Asked by martin klümper

I have a problem with my HP LaserJet CP1025 color Printer.
Full coloured pages without any black are printed quite well and sharp.
But text or lines in black are printed unsharp with a unsharp zone around the letters like a glow.
I checked all settings an I can't find the fault, why the printout in black and white are so unsharp.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Hallo Sanjay,

Thanks for your link, how to fix this bug.

But isn't there any installer I can use, instead of copying code into a programm?

I am not so familiar with this umbuntu stuff..

I would rather start an installing via the umbuntu software center or so...

Hello Martin,

There is an installer also, but that will be available after around one month or even earlier, because HPLIP release happens once in every 2 months.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Hello Sanjay,

thanks for your quick response.

Please let me know, when the installer is out.

I think I will print my letters just in blue color, until the bugfix
is released. :-)

Thanks

Martin

Thanks Sanjay, for your answer. When will the hplip-3.12.4 be released?

And, can I download it by using the Ubuntu Software Center or must I
install it using the HP Installer?

Your sincerely

Hello Martin,

HPLIP release is going to happen very shortly (within 2 weeks or so), However I can not tell you the final date. And you need to install it using the HP installer.

Hello Martin,

Thanks for the update. Log shows that 'sudo apt-get update' is failing.

Please reboot the machine and then check if repositries are configured properly before trying to install hplip. Also please paste the output of "hp-check -t" command here.

Hello Sanjay,

Here is the log of the hp-check -t.

I did an update of Ubuntu 11.10 yesterday. So I think all standard
installations belonging to the Ubuntu 11.10 version should be installed
on my machine.

I checked, for instance, if cups is installed on my machine in the
Ubuntu Software Center. cups is
marked with a green "checked" sign, so it is installed.

I don t know, what is gone wrong and I hope you don t mind me to ask for
your
support for serveral times.

But maybe also other users have some similar problems with the printer
driver ?!:-\

Thanks for your support

Martin
