Printing from iMindmap software results in squashed text

Asked by webheadjunky

Recently changed to an HP Deskjet 3050 Printer and installed HPLIP software

Tried printing some mindmaps from iMindmap Pro 5 and have a problem

The branches and text print ok. But the text in the central idea and any floating text boxes is all squashed and overlayered into one line and cannot be read

I have been liaising with iMindmap tech support and they think the issue is with the printer as print preview renders perfectly

Are you aware of any known issues of this type?

Grateful for your advice

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue. In order to help us understand the issue please follow steps provided in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems (Capturing print job data) and send us the printout file.

Thanks Sanjay
I have an HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series printer but I assume linux calls it something different
Where do I find the linux name for the printer so I can use it in the CUPS commands?
Thanks
Raaj

Hi Raaj,

You can get the print queue name by running "system-config-printer" command from the terminal.

Otherwise you can enable/disable print queue by following below steps.
=> run ""system-config-printer" command ->select correct printer -> uncheck Enabled checkbox (For disabling print queue in step 2)

=> run ""system-config-printer" command ->select correct printer -> Check Enabled checkbox (For Enabling print queue in step 6)

Thanks Sanjay

Files attached:
One is the printer output file
The other is the imindmap file from the imindmap application that I am using

I logged into ubuntu wiki and went to the bugs area and looked for qn 185019 but could not see it there or I would have updated and attached via there

Please advise if you require any further info/action from me

Thanks again for your quick and helpful responses

Raaj

Hi Raaj,

I am not able to see the attachment.

**Please use "Create bug report" option (https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/185019/+makebug) to attach the logs as "Ask a Question" does not provide the file attachment option.

Thanks,
Sanjay
