HPLIP

HP Color 4700 print driver for Linux As 4.2

I would like to know what print driver I need and where I can locate it for an HP Color 4700 printer
The Linux box is running RHLAS 4.2

Sorry about not giving any background. If this is what you mean, I'm a Unix system Admin for the Dept of Commerce
in D.C. We are going to Linux so I'm failrly new.
I appreciate the quick response from Aaron and followed the link tha was suggested.
My problem still remains. I'm running RH ES 4.2 To install the proper drivers the dependencies are
net-snmp-5.2.1.2 , I have net-snmp-5.1.2-11.EL4.11 installed
I have looked for the correct RPM but I can't find it could anyone point me to a link where I could get that version of
net-snmp-5.2.1.2?

The HP Color LaserJet 4700 is supported by HPLIP. Red Hat AS has been tested in the past and known to work. However it is not supported by the HPLIP automatic installer. You can try the manual process here:

http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/manual/distros/redhatenterprise.html

Also if you don't mind please post your experience so that I can improve the documentation.

We have tested the HPLIP install on RHEL AS, however it may be outdated. I'm working on updating the instructions however it will be a bit before I get them all completed.

At what step are you having a problem? and what is the problem exactly? If you have net-snmp installed it could be something else, so if you can post the error you are getting that would help. :)

With RHEL you'll need to do a manual install, if you are getting the error at the ./configure step can you run the ./configure command and > hplip_log.txt and post the log?

This all under the same ticket.
I'm doing a manual install of hplip-2.7.10
when I run
#./configure
I get at the end
checking net-snmp/net-snmp-config.h usability... no
checking net-snmp/net-snmp-config.h presence... no
checking for net-snmp/net-snmp-config.h... no
configure: error: cannot find net-snmp-devel support (or --disable-network-build)

When I try installing net-snmp-devel-5.2.1.2-2.el4.i386.rpm
I get
rpm -i
error: Failed dependencies:
        net-snmp = 5.2.1.2 is needed by net-snmp-devel-5.2.1.2-2.el4.i386
It's that version of net-snmp that I can't seem to find.

On the system;
# rpm -q net*
package net-snmp-5.2.1.2-1.src.rpm is not installed
package net-snmp-5.2.1.2-2.el4.i386.rpm is not installed

But;
