pin printing with HP CM6049 MFP

Asked by arthurS

we are using hplip version 3.11.1 on ubuntu 8.04 for a HP CM6049 MFP printer. We would like to use the pin printing function. The option seems to be available in the driver, but when we enable 'use PIN to print' printjobs won't get printed. The jobs leave the cups-server and the network led on the printers blinks as if a job is being received. The printer displays indicates a job is being processed, but nothing gets printed.

Anyone an idea if pin printing on this model should work or did anyone have success in configuring pin printing for this model?

Hello,

Pin printing/Secure printing is not yet supported in HPLIP. Please use the latest hplip-3.11.5 from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html .

Thanks,

Is pin printing supported in hplip 3.11.5? Or is this just a better
hplip? If it is not supported in hplip 3.11.5 are there plans to include
pin printing in hplip?

Thanks for the quick response

gr,
arthur

Pin printing is not supported yet. As of now, we don't have any timeline set to implement it. It's better you update your hplip to latest 3.11.5 or you disable pin printing.

Can you help with this problem?
