Download the latest hplip-3.11.5 from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html and install it.

Run "hp-check -t" and it shouldn't show any missing dependencies. If it shows, please download and install.

Run "hp-setup -g" and post the output here.

Sarbeswar

Hi Zhimin,

This model is currently not supported by HPLIP. This will be supported in our next upcoming release. Will let you know once it is done. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Srikanth,

thank you for your help. But is it possible to get any alternative? For
example, any PPD file to install is as a Sambar one? Or If I can do any
test for you and send me some test version?

thanks a again and hope to hear something positive from you.

Hi Zhimin,

You can do the following as as alternative workaround.

1. Login as root from the terminal.
2. Open /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat
3. Search and Replace "m1212nf" with "M1216nfh"
4. Save the file and try to configure the device again.

Please let us know for any further help.

Thanks for using HPLIP.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Srikanth,

sorry to trouble you again. Printing and faxing are working fine. But I
have problem with scanning.

From HPLIP installed computer, xsane worked two or three time after
hp-setup successful running. Then no more. Now we are getting always IO
error. I tried with
xsane hpaio:/net/HP_LaserJet_Professional_M1216nfh_MFP?ip=192.168.1.98

192.168.1.98 is the ip of the MFP. The URL is created by hp-makeurl

Can you help me? Or do I need to create a new question?

thanks a lot and with

Hello,

Please delete the print queue. Restart the device (printer). Run "hp-setup" again and try scanning. The problem here is not able to detect the device.

Hallo Sarbeswar,

I deleted the printers in CUP-management, I restarted the printer. I did

What shall I do now?

1. Go to /etc/sane.d folder.
2. Check if dll.d folder is present. If not available, create a folder dll.d (using command: mkdir dlld.d).
3. Create a file hplip inside dll.d and write hpaio in it. Save and close it.
4. Go back to folder /etc/sane.d and open dll.conf file. At the end, hpaio should be present. If not there, please add hpaio. Save and Close the file.
5. Restart the system and try scanning.

hi Sarbeswar,

this is the exact solution.
- there was no folder dll.d
- in the dll.conf the last line was: #hpaio

now everything is okay!

Please try the above mentioned steps once again. Please note that in the last line of dll.conf file, "hpaio" string should be present. In your case, it is commented i.e. #hpaio. Remove # symbol, save the file. and try again.

Reboot the system after these changes are made. Run "hp-check -t" and post the output here. It shouldn't display any error message.
