"/usr/lib/cups/filter/hpcups failed"

We recently bought HP Color Laser Jet CP1025. Its driver for OpenSUSE 11.2 is not present on the HPLIP website. So, downloaded 3.11.1. On execution it asked for a plugin (without plugin, the installation did not proceed further). http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/ downloaded the plugin for 3.11.1. Then the setup was complete, and it recognised the printer. While printing the test page using CUPS (localhost:631). It showed the error "/usr/lib/cups/filter/hpcups failed". While executing hp-setup -i at the end, this is shown in the output.

Please try the following steps;
1.$ cd hplip-3.11.1
$ ./configure --libdir=/usr/lib64 --prefix=/usr --enable-qt4 --enable-doc-build --enable-cups-ppd-install --enable-foomatic-drv-install --enable-foomatic-ppd-install --enable-hpijs-install --enable-policykit --enable-cups-drv-install --enable-hpcups-install --enable-network-build --enable-dbus-build --enable-scan-build --enable-fax-build --enable-foomatic-rip-hplip-install
$ make
$ sudo make install
$ sudo hp-setup

Hi Ani,
Thanks for responding. The sudo make install sows some error. The output is:
Libraries have been installed in:
   /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages

If you ever happen to want to link against installed libraries
in a given directory, LIBDIR, you must either use libtool, and
specify the full pathname of the library, or use the `-LLIBDIR'
flag during linking and do at least one of the following:
   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_LIBRARY_PATH' environment variable
     during execution
   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_RUN_PATH' environment variable
     during linking
   - use the `-Wl,--rpath -Wl,LIBDIR' linker flag
   - have your system administrator add LIBDIR to `/etc/ld.so.conf'

See any operating system documentation about shared libraries for
more information, such as the ld(1) and ld.so(8) manual pages.

 Try running these commands,
1. cd hplip-3.11.1
2. sudo make uninstall
3. ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-qt4 --enable-doc-build --disable-cups-ppd-install --disable-foomatic-drv-install --enable-foomatic-ppd-install --enable-hpijs-install --disable-policykit --disable-cups-drv-install --disable-hpcups-install --enable-network-build --enable-dbus-build --enable-scan-build --disable-fax-build --disable-foomatic-rip-install --enable-foomatic-rip-hplip-install
4. make
5. sudo make install
Now, add your printer.
