hp-setup on my ubuntu 10.10 stable - hp CM1312nfi MFP - doesn't work :(

Asked by Pikkolo

Hello,

first of all thanks for all your contribution to free software, it's beautifull.

My trouble at the moment is that I'm trying to configure my hp CM1312nfi MFP on my Ubuntu 10.10 workstation, but after the software detects my hp and offers me to download the software from internet, it says " plugin installation error - contact http://hplipopensource.com " or something like that ( i don't remember it literally at the moment :D ).

May you please let me know if you plan to release a fix to this problem so that I can properly use hp-setup and use my MFP as I was able to do with hp-setup on Ubuntu 10.04 ?

Thanks a lot

Peace

Hi,
This printer REQUIRES a downloadable driver plug-in. Driver plug-ins are released under a proprietary (non-open) license and are not part of the HPLIP tarball release.

 Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,
thanks for your kind attention. What I mean is that by using hp-setup on ubuntu 10.04, I ve been able to properly download the driver plugin you talk of and everything worked good. Now I m doing the same on Ubuntu 10.10, but the downloading doesn't work and I get a " plugin download error " message. What may I do to solve ? May I get this plugin I need manually from any website ?
Sorry for getting this thing longer but Im desperate :)

Thanks

Marco
