Install instructions can be found at below link.

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html

Please make sure the command should be the same as package you have downloaded. So , if the package name is hplip-3.10.2.run , below will be the command.

sh hplip-3.10.2.run

Thanks,

A

please check weather .run file has executable permission.
chmod +x hplip-3.10.2.run.

also check weather user and group are of normal user (ls -l hplip-3.10.2.run)

if user, group and permission are fine then run "sh hplip-3.10.2.run" in terminal.

Thank you for supporting HPLIP!

Der Naga Samrat Cowdary,

in the end I succeeded in installing hplip - and I could start the
device. The failure has been: the usb-cable is not alright. Thank you
for help!

Problem solved:
You are right, of course the command has to be the same als the package.
It ist not so in the description on the HPLIP-Site.
The device did not run, because of a defect in the usb-cable.

Thank you for help,

Best regards
