It looks like someone has a knockoff product using the same HomeBank Name

Asked by Alvin Kutil

Looking at the General Tab under Edit-Preferences does not have a box for fiscal year start date. Is this where your home page is?
http://homebank.free.fr/help/index.html
The web page shows a different layout than what is shown in the software. Have you updated screen views when you release a new version?

Hi Alvin, the page you mention is indeed the main help page for HomeBank. The homepage being http://homebank.free.fr/
Where is this "knockoff" product you mention available?
Due to the Free/Open Source nature of Homebank and the GNU GPL v2 license, we'd need to look at it more in detail before being able to figure out if this is indeed a knockoff, or allowed under the license.

A later email essentially said ignore this. I still don't know why Windows
8.1 decided to download version 4.2 from Jan 2013 when version 5 was
available. Why would any software choose to download an old version, I
certainly didn't navigate my way to it, I simply asked to download the
latest version! Once I "upgraded" to 5.0 the split function was clearly
visible, but it wasn't there in 4.2.

Indeed, I see the other question https://answers.launchpad.net/homebank/+question/269511 now.
I suppose you're the only one (except admin) that can close the question, so I'm marking this as a proposed answer, and I guess you'll have a button to mark the question as answered.
