to recocgnize a *.mut file

Asked by Bram van Leeuwen

my bank outputs a *.mut file which is not recognized by Homebank. This mut file looks like a *.csv file and if I change "mut" to "csv" the file is still not recognized.

Before downloading the data from the bank I have asked to output a *.csv file.

Can you solve this problem?

A universal converter is not included in Homebank so far, but have a read at Bug #319206. At the end you will find the location of my attempt to create an universal converter for .csv files written in Python. A mut-file means you have a RABO-account. Download a RABO-mut.txt file and the converter can read and convert this. You need to install Python first.
Success.

Thanks Ton for your swift answer. I downloaded your converter and the
manual. I will soon try it and report back. Is this converter also OK
for an ING account?

Can't see why not. Just compose new def-file based on ING fields available.

I unpacked the converter and it sits in a subdirectory of "Documenten".
When I type ./convert.py there is no reaction. The I tried to place the map of the converter in the root directory: I was forbidden! Then I tried in the terminal to change directory to go to the map where Convert is placed, but the command "cd" is not recognized. "dir" gives the subdirectories but if I do Cd to one of those subdirectories the map "does not exist".
Can you give me a push in the right direction?
