Transmission stating that port 51413 is closed

Asked by elChupaNibre

Hi...

I have installed Gufw & have allowed access to Transmission via the pre-configured drop down list.
Problem is that once Gufw is enabled, Transmission states that port 51413 is closed. Any torrent I try to D/L takes forever to. The only way to fix this is to disable Gufw & reboot the system.

Does anybody know what the problem is here?

Hi!
Can you try to purge and reinstall ufw & gufw?
Did you open the port on router?
Best regards ;)

Hi Marcos

I purged & reinstalled ufw & Gufw. This time upon re-installation, the program did not pick up Transmission (i.e. it was not automatically placed in the pre-configured drop down list) so added an allow rule to the port number manually.

Transmission again states that the port is closed.

This is not a problem with my router as i have forwarded the port and the program (transmission) normally works fine. This only happens whenever I install Gufw, every other time the port is open & i am able to d/l torrents at a reasonable speed.

Any Ideas?

Can you try uninstall Gufw and config ufw by command line? Is it working with this option?
Please, tell me the versions of ufw & gufw ;) Thanks.
