How to install gufw under Kubuntu 8.10 + autostart ?

Hello !

I'd like to give gufw a go.

... I've attempted to install gufw under Kubuntu 8.10 (64bit) various times (almost linux newbie) without much success.
I've got the icon there in the menu, I can also run it but I am not able to interact with the relevant GUI.. What went wrong ?

Firestarter seems 2 works quite well.

Ubuntu 8.10? I hope you mistyped that and are using 8.04. 8.10 is definitely
not for newbies, it's still in the alpha stage!

Thad said, gufw doesn't work great for auto-start yet, by design - we're
working on fixing this. But, you don't need to auto-start gufw - because
gufw is *not* the real firewall. Gufw just manages the real firewall, which
is ufw, and that is auto-started automatically.

So in short, the firewall is running always with the previous settings you
set with gufw, even when gufw is not started. There's no need to auto-start
gufw unless you'd like to change firewall settings very frequently.

Sorry, my attempts in using gufw are being made on 8.04. I'm having a quick go at 8.10 too under virtualbox to see whats new ... but that's an other topic.

Gufw 0.0.7c not works fine in Ubuntu 8.10.
We're working in a new version for Intrepid Ibex (version 8.10).
For Hardy Heron please use Gufw 0.0.7c ;)
