client-side rendering on dashboard

Asked by Norbert Winkler

Hi guys,
thank you for your great work on Graphite.
It's quite a useful tool by now.
What I really miss is the possibility of zooming, selecting a time range and getting the exact value at a certain time in the graphs that are rendered on the server.
All this is possible with the new Graphlot feature. But here I'm missing the nice overview of different graphs next to each other.
Also the auto-complete feature in the Graphlot view is a pain in the ass for me to use. I really liked the tree-view instead.
Now to my question.
Is there any chance of you combining the neat client-side rendering with a dashboard-overview in the near future?
E.g. dynamically add graphs on the Graphlot-view and save the view, or use the Flot-library on the dashboard?
Especially an ETA would be really helpful.
Thx in advance.

There's always a chance, but I don't think any of us can predict the future. :)

That said, there's a lot of activity around Graphite dashboards these days. It would be nice to see more attention being focused on the native tools within the project, but people tend to want to scratch their own itch.

neither are complete solutions, but they've at least done a lot of the hard
work of dealing with graph rendering and can be combined with other tools.
