Nutritional information

I installed Gourmet Recipe Manager version 0.16.0, which came with the software, on Ubuntu and really enjoy it, whoever I have 2 questions

1/ Is it possible to add the nutritionl value of a a product I buy locally and that is not in the USDA database¿
2/ How do I update the USDA database that comes with the program¿

As for 1, I think that's possible from within the "Edit nutritional information" dialog; as for 2, the database isn't updated online, so you can't update it to a newer state. If you're asking because it wasn't downloaded properly and you want to restart the USDA database download and import, see my comment #2 at https://answers.launchpad.net/gourmet/+question/236404

(Tom, can you comment on these questions? The nutrition plugin is the part of the program I'm really least familiar with.)

The DB is imported en masse based on the USDA's data. If the format hasn't
changed, that can be updated and re-imported at any point. As to custom
information, you can enter it by hand, though of course it can get rather
tedious.

When you put in new ingredients that Gourmet doesn't know about yet, it
gives you the chance to either search the DB for equivalents or enter
custom information. There is no default way to mass import new data.
