No Acccess to System after being left unattended

Asked by Londonman

I left the system running and upon my return had no way back in
I was presented with a Black Screen
Item left running were:-

Kompozer, Firefox, Amsn, Skype
and Evolution

Not sure if this is a bug or the system just crashed
I was expecting to enter my user name and pw to access the system

But this was not to be. Had to turn the system off could not reboot the system.

I just tried to test the system with System testing that too has now hung i will have to reboot the system.

How can i resolve this issue or is it a bug?

GnoMenu cannot cause this issue and most likely your Destop Manager is
the issue. Assuming you use GDM try a force reinstall using apt-get in
terminal mode ( ctrl + alt + F1 will give you the terminal screen.)
