what Plugin Files for To Use?

Asked by sadie60

Greetings,
First, GMPC is by far the best MPD client available!

I installed: gmpc 0.16.95, Revision: 383ca8e on Ubuntu Hardy 64bit using Synaptic and your instructions for installing from
repositories. I attempted to install plugins utilizing the same method, but I get errors when I start gmpc. The errors pertain to API versions. Using 19, and require 21. How do I rectify this problem to take advantage of the plugins available? THANKS!

Sounds like you installed the wrong version plugins for gmpc.

Tell me what instructions you followed and what where you obtained the files.

Also why install an old beta? 0.17.0 is the latest.

gmpc 0.16.95hardy1
libmpd 0.16.95zhardy2

and plugins 0.16.0ubuntu1 & 2

I added the repositories ppa.launchpad.net/main and ppa.launchpad.net/universe to my source.list file.

I cannot say more. Don't mix different versions of gmpc/plugins.

I don't have time to build and maintain packages.. so wait for ubuntu to update.

Remove libmpd and gmpc and gmpc-plugins you installed via apt, then you can compile gmpc 0.17.0 + plugins just fine.
