Asked by Abhijit Sasmal

Hi,

I am using duply version 1.6.0 on Centos 6.9. Using installed duplicity version 0.6.26, python 2.6.6, gpg 2.0.14 . Recently I am facing issue with backup. I am backing up huge files, also large in size. The server has 11 GB memory. After backup started it consume all the memory within minute. Only say 150 MB memory is available during that time. Please help me to fix this issue.

hi,

1.
please try the latest stable v0.7.12 and see if that resolves the issue.

2.
are you by any chance doing unencrypted uncompressed backups?

Hi,

1) Thanks for your response. As I am using Centos 6.9, I can not install the latest one v0.7.12 which is for Centos7. Can I Downgrade the version to 0.6.22?

2) I am using encrypted and compressed backups.

try install the tarball from http://duplicity.nongnu.org ..

Hi,

I have installed Duplicity version v0.7.12 along with duply 1.11.3-1. But still the problem persist. The server has 11 GB memory. All this memory going immediately to buffer while taking backup of 272 GB data. The server become very slow and almost taking 4-5 days to backing up all the data to rsync cloud. Please suggest any step to rectify it. Thanks for your help.
