No Backup reported after Saturday successful backup. Had PolKit failure today also.

Asked by Honey I

Attempted to restore to Saturday's Backup. Deja Dup report said No Backup Available. This a.m. had Bug 697095 report at startup. I'm new to Ubuntu so not sure what to do with either problem. Could use some help. :)

Where was Deja Dup trying to restore from? Are you sure there are backup files in that location?

Thank you for replying...
1) I don't know where Deja Dup was restoring from.
2) Further investigation into DD I apparently did not register with DD
and that probably was the problem; I subsequently uninstalled DD.

The notice I did receive at that point was:
polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 crashed with SIGSEGV in
g_datalist_id_set_data_full() during logout.

Does this mean that there is a virus or spyware in my PC? If so, can it
be eliminated? My reason for asking is that yesterday, 8/30/11,
Evolution email did not connect to my Gmail account automatically.
After clicking on "Inbox" in the Gmail section it requested I enter my
password -- it then worked; however this a.m. had same problem.

Is all the above related?

My apologies, but only recently installed Ubuntu and am still in the
learning stages. Please advise on how to handle all this.

Honey I

OK, I guess we won't worry about the DD problem.

The polkit error you saw was likely just a bug in polkit. It's not a virus.

As for Evolution asking for your password, I'm not an expert in Evolution, but I suspect there is a way to ask it to remember your password. Look in its preferences maybe.

Is there a way to eliminate the polkit bug? Please advise.

Thanks -- will check into "preferences"
