says connected to hub but nothing else happens

Asked by humanracer

I have had this problem with 2 different ISP's. When you connect to a hub it will say connected but then nothing else happens. The user list does not appear and I cannot search. Also when I type something in the chat window nothing appears. This problem is very intermittent and it seems to occur mostly during the day or early evening. Late at night it is never a problem. On all occasions and I am using a wireless router and I am in passive mode. This happens with every hub. I have heard users post this question for years but never get to the bottom of it. Is there any one particular reason for this?

Cheers

Robert

The version that you are using is no longer getting any help support. Try updating to the latest version of DC++.

still having kinda the same problem, the hub will say connected and then minutes later more stuff load

ie
[05:15] *** Connecting to thebootlegbunker.redirectme.net:1411...
[05:15] *** Connected
[05:16] <Lunatic_Fringe> This hub is running version 0.3.39 SVN 292 of the Dev Direct Connect Hub Software.
[05:16] <Lunatic_Fringe> Your nickname is registered. Please supply the password.

a minute just to display welcome message? search results take ages to load and hublists won't load at all.

is this an isp or dc++ problem?. I also have problems connecting to torrent trackers.

Also, that place must be having problems when connecting due to outdated hub software.

Check if your provider use p2p throttle in certain periods of the day. You can ask them or check your connection with Google M-Lab to find out if they do so ( http://www.measurementlab.net )

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask humanracer for more information if necessary.
