how do i email you

Asked by rithym

i am living in Portugal and my ISP here cannot provide me with a static IP and it changes very often sometimes 2 or 3 times an hour. I now have upnp working fine after upgrading the router firmware all I need is for DC+ to restart each time my IP address changes I have searched everywhere but cannot find a program that will achieve this.
Any help much appreciated as each time my IP changes I lose my downloads (although uploads continue just fine) until I restart DC+

You need to register a dynamic dns address for yourself and using it you won't need to restart DC++
Many routers can handle accounts at specific DDNS providers so check your router's settings before choose one.
Then you should put your DDNS address to the external IP field in DC++ settings. May you need to check the Don't allow hub/UPnP box, either.
If your router doesn't support any DDNS provider you should use a client software (available from the choosen DDNS provider)

ok I get what you saying can you be a bit more specific with the settings
for DC+ I am very new to this...

I have a dynamic IP address reg'd with dyndns.org but where in DC+ do I put
these settings ie direct connection, firewall with unpnp, firewall with
manual port forwarding, firewall passive, etc, etc

TIA

Your upnp is working. Why would you change the connection method? I didn't said that. You have one external IP field in Connection settings nowhere else you can put it.

Can you help with this problem?
