lhapdf2pdt script NAN problem

Asked by Ismail Turan

Dear Alexander,

I have encounter the following problem while using lhapdf2pdt script to convert some pdf distributions into pdt tables. For example I want to use PDF4LHC15_nlo_100 from LHAPDF6 in Calchep as pdt format. Once I generate PDF4LHC15_nlo_100.pdt file there is a entry
#Alpha
4.3603E-01 4.1195E-01 3.8934E-01 -NAN
with NAN in it. Somehow, the pdt file is not generated properly. The script works for some cases like cteq6l1 but not most of the others. I tried others and there are always NAN entries in Alpha. I am using Calchep3.7.

Is there a way to figure this out?
Thank you for your time.

P.S. Using the entire LHAPDF6 inside Calchep was my first choice but I couldn't get it work. That's why pdt table seemed a reasonable alternative.

I have tested  LHAPDF service in CalcHEP  for versions 6.2.1 and 6.2.3

It seems it works fine  for  lhapdf2pdt and for direct CalCHEP - LHAPDF
link. I use Fedora Linux. If you have problems with one of these
versions, please, let me know and inform me about version of your
operation system.

But for LHAPDF-6.2.0  I indeed have a problem. It seems I sent a mail to
LHAPDF team about this problem and they promised to fix it.

I have attached PDT file for PDF4LHC15_nlo_100

Let me know in case of problem.

Dear Alexander,

Thank you for your reply. After your email I gave another shot to get calchep working with LHAPDF which is what I really want anyway and would definitely solve my problem. I manage to have it working with LHAPDF version 6.1.6 with the following link in the model file:
-L/usr/local/lib -lLHAPDF

I am using Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.15.0-70-generic x86_64) server edition.

Thank you again,
Best regards
