select tool won't work

Bug Description

For some reason, at complete random, the select tool stops working. The cursor doesn't appear and objects can't be clicked or moved. Closing the program doesn't make the problem go away either. Double-clicking doesn't work but Alt-clicking does work.

I am running Windows XP SP3 and Inkscape 0.48. I am not using any input devices and this only seems to happen at complete random after Inkscape starts up. I can still use other tools like Type and Circle. The Node selecting tool also doesn't work.

Please add information about OS and Inkscape version.
Do you use any extended input devices like a tablet / pen?

Other buttons are working. Selector and Node tools aren't working.

Never experienced this issue with Inkscape 0.48.0 or 0.48+devel on OS X 10.5.8.

What does make it go away?

I restarted the computer and it's back to normal now.

@Koetsu - did you run into the same issue again with the 0.48.x branch or the new 0.91 version?
If you just had that bug once, I suggest we close the report "invalid".

Closing - no further feedback by the reporter whether the same issue did re-occur with later stable releases (0.48.5, 0.91).
