Bug Description

Since the last release (0.2.40) I've noticed a semi-transparent rectangle around every launcher icon. It is very obvious when a launcher-icon wiggles to draw the users attention (see attached screencast). I still have to verify if this, but I think it's due to the recent effect-cache work in clutk (rev 271). Seen on intel GMA X3100 (i965). Will see if this also happen on nvidia.

This only happens on intel. Tested with GMA X3100 (i965) and GMA 950 (i945). With an nvidia card and the proprietary driver this does not happen. It is an issue with clutk. Also happens with clutk rev. 270. So I'm not sure yet what's causing it.

Argl... it's even worse. It only happens for some launcher icons not for all *sigh*

I've tried to isolate this by bisecting clutk and unity. To be sure to only use the locally installed clutk/unity I deinstalled the system-wide versions from the repository. With curent clutk (rev. 274) and unity (rev. 539) I don't get this any longer on my laptop (intel GMA X3100). Marking at "Fix Committed".

Current observations sofar. There are to cases where the launcher-icon gets some semi-transparent rectangle added to it.

1.) Drag out a launcher-icon and move it around the screen a bit. Reinsert it back into the launcher. Then you will see a slight greyish portion of a rectangle on the left side of the dragged launcher icon.

2.) Start an application from the launcher. This also adds some greyish-transparent rectangle to the launcher-icon.
