Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

I wish that Amarok always has support for Zen/Dell DJ using the -with--libnjb flag. I don't want to compile every time a new version is released.

Amarok in Edgy is compiled with ----with-libnjb and is being backported to dapper-backports

This cannot be right.

Either that or Amarok isn't compatible with any recent version of libmtp.

I compiled libmtp, libnjb, and gnomad2 and they work fine with my Zen player (uses same libs as the Dell DJ) and Amarok doesn't even have the NJB plugin option when I try to manually add the device.

we dont support self compiled libs , please open a new bug if you are having an issue NOT reopen a unrelated bug.

Infomation about what version of amarok you are using would be helpfull

The amarok in dapper-backports ( version 1.4.3 ) is compiled with libnjb support and the librarys are precompiled in the archive, please test with those or best case with those in edgy beta ( with the edgy beta live cd this can be done without installing )

Thanks

I am using Edgy with the latest updates, and amarok does not seem to support njb devices (the type of device is not even listed when I try to manually add it)

i know, but could you please report it to these addresses:

I am not a part of the Kubuntu bug team, I just wrote the original bug. If
you add your name to this issue we might be able to get this working a bit
better. Thanks!
