If I use gnome-help in the previous window, I get an "Unable to load page" message.

I can confirm this on Intrepid. To be clear, selecting help from the context menu when right clicking the applet works as expected. The issue is when pressing the help button on the Volume Control window itself.

the omf directory is not listed in the .install, that's a packaging bug not an upstream one, will be fixed in the next upload

You closed the upstream report saying that "the bug is a gnome-volume-control one and a packaging issue not a code bug." Yet you never mentioned what the specific issue is. I'd be happy to try and fix this if you could please point me to where the issue lays.

The files seem to be correctly installed to /usr/share/gnome/help/gnome-volume-control
