Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

X just appears to have crashed hard on me, while playing around with the KDE4 regional settings (setxkbmap wrapper).

This appears to have been detected as an Inkscape crash...?!

Inkscape wasn't running.. I've used it yesterday or the day before.

It was probably a delayed bug report that got picked up following the X crash.

In any case, there is not enough information in the backtrace to say for certain what the issue is. If you have any thoughts on what you might have been doing when it crashed, please feel free to reopen with that info. Otherwise, Hardy has a newer version of Inkscape to try. :-)

Eric Tranier mentioned in the duplicate bug 200211 what he was doing:
"I would want take a pattern for filling a simple square and inkscape disepeard"

Eric, can you reproduce the crash, with the current version in Hardy (currently 0.46~pre1-0ubuntu2)?

My crash was marked as a dupe of this by the retracer and I can supply a test case.

o run inkscape
o render a gear with default settings
o try to create a 3d box
o segfault

This bug was fixed in the package inkscape - 0.46-5ubuntu3

---------------
inkscape (0.46-5ubuntu3) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Add 102_sp_pattern_painter_free.dpatch: Fix SIGSEGV in
sp_pattern_painter_free that occurs when drawing gears and creating 3d
    boxes.
    (LP: #198608)
  * Add 103_bitmap_type_print.dpatch: Bitmap-type print to printer and
    preview produces low resolution output.
    (LP: #258916)
