Gnome list of 'files last recently used' is not cleared through BleachBit 0.5.4, Ubuntu 9.04, Gnome 2.26.1

Asked by NilsB

I use BleachBit and I'm happy with it. I recently noticed that BleachBit don't clear the gnome list "last recently used files" although the tick is "on" under System. Do you know this?

I mean the menu item under Places on the bottom, where you can see, which files you opened last.

BR,
nils

Yes, I recently discovered that deleting the file is not enough because Gnome 2.26 caches it in memory. As a temporary workaround, do this

1. Delete the file in BleachBit
2. Run this command (which restarts your panels):
killall gnome-panel
