SmartPoule Competition Server unreachable

I hope this is the right place to ask this question:

We are going to use BellePoule for a small internal competition in our club. I was trying to test the SmartPoule integration beforehand, but couldn't get it to work. All I get is the following message when I try to scan the referee configuration code:

Connection Error!
Competition server unreachable

I'm running BellePoule on my windows 7 notebook, which also hosts a wifi network for the smartphones to connect to, but doesn't have internet access. The connection details for the wifi were entered into SmartPoule and the smartphone is connected to the wifi.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to do something else for the smartphone to be able to connect?
Do I need internet access for it to work?

Hi Jens,

This error is reported because the BellePoule and SmartPoule are unable to exchange data over the network.
It may be caused by several reasons. The most probable is that the involved communication ports (35830 and 35931) are filtered out by a firewall.
To check that, launch both applications (BellePoule and SmartPoule), open a web browser on your computer at http://xx.xx.xx.xx:35831 (replace xx.xx.xx.xx by the IP address of your smartphone), and another web browser on your smartphone at http://yy.yy.yy.yy:35830 (replace yy.yy.yy.yy by the IP address of your computer). If the ports are OK you should see a blank page otherwise an error page.

Under certain circumstances anti-viruses may block the communication as well. You can check this point by disabling it temporarily.

Hi Yannick,

I finally found the time to play around with it once more.

I managed to get the connection going in one direction. I can "see" the BellePoule on my computer from my smartphone and a webbrowser gives the blank page just fine.

Sadly, the other direction doesn't work at all. If I check the port that should be open on my smartphone, I just get errors, regardless of if I check from my computer or from my smartphone itself.

The result is that my smartphone is recognized by BellePoule and I'm connected as referee, but my smartphone doesn't get a match list.

Update:

I just tried the new version 5.0 with the phone of my girlfriend. That combination works but my phone still can't get the match list (instead it shows a "broken connection" icon on the sheet next to the QR-code when I scan it).
The old version 4.53 doesn't work with either phone.

Hi Jens,

Forget 4.53 version. It's not compatible anymore with the new version of Smartpoule.

5.0 comes with a new way of using Smartpoule. Matches are not "pushed" anymore to the smartphones. On the other hand to get the match list, the referees have now to scan the score sheet themselves.
According to your descriptions I think you've just missed this action. Right?

No, I did scan the score sheet (I assume you mean the small QR code that's on the score sheet, not the entire sheet).
With my Girlfriend's phone, it recognized the code and I got the match list.
With my own phone, it recognized the code but I did not get the match list and BellePoule showed an icon of a smartphone with a red sign next to the QR code. I assume that icon means something like "connection failed".

Hi Jens,

Check the version of Smartpoule on your own smartphone. It must be 5.2.0

Hi Jens,

Something is going wrong for sure, but it's not easy to know where it comes from.
We could start by collecting the traces generated by your smartĥone.
Have you already played around with its developer mode?
