If you wait some time till our new release gets out, then this will be
possible easily. The schedule per included folder gives the functionality
you want, however it is broken in the current release, but will be fixed in
the next. This way / will also includes the /home, but /home will be backed
up more frequently.
This version will also have a new feature: different profiles. You could
make two profiles for each of the tasks, then they will be stored also in
different snapshot folders.
In the current release the schedule per included folder option is present,
however hardlinking is broken, so it will use a tremendous amount of space.
(better to make a backup of / more frequently)

To answer your second question:
are there different excludes per backup directory? No, there are not, as all
are handled in the same process (it just adds a folder to the same rsync
process).

Cheers,
Bart
