cannot authenticate update manager

Asked by Dick Morningwood on 2010-11-07

Update Manager now requires a password for authentication. My password for Ubuntu doesn't work, and my password for Launchpad does not work either. Should I create a new Launchpad account just to create a password that works? Seems silly. Thanks.
