How do I give apport "change everything" rights after revoking them

Asked by Fabian Alenius

I ran "apport-collect 367821" to send in a report on that bug, I was presented with a firefox window asking me to choose which access level to give apport. I thought "read everything" would be enough for it to work. Apparently it wasn't, I then thought I could revoke the right and redo the process(since I did not see any change button(?)). But now it doesn't present me with a window any more and I can't find settings to change it anywhere. Please point out how to solve this, or maybe it's not in which case it should be fixed imo.

Hi Fabian,

I had the same problem, if you remove
/home/~user/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials

and then run apport-collect again, it will prompt you again with the website, thus allowing you to change the permission.

Hello henning,

Open Konsole and type:

cd /home/~user/.cache/apport
rm launchpad.credentials

where "~user" is your username of course.

You can also open dolphin and choose "Show hidden files" from the View-menu. You can then navigate to the above file path.

Hello Johan
Thanks for a quick reply.
I couldnt find the file you mentioned - no matter what. In desperation I
closed Firefox and restarted my pc. And bingo- now it works :-)
