Zim

Take a look at unitree

Asked by FriDisch

This is not as much a question as a suggestion. You should take a look at unitree (https://launchpad.net/unitree). The possibility to add abitrary datafields to every treenode is very cool and something I'd love to have for zim too.

This looks a lot like a mock-up I did myself. Would love to have this in zim as well, just need to figure out some design issues on how to implement.

Anyone wants to work on this is welcome.

Hi, I'm the author of UniTree which I had to decommission because I was not able to port it to GTK3.
Anyway, the concept of UniTree (class-instance-class-instance relations in the tree) in combination with custom fields goes far beyond what ZIM wants to be. Actually I've downgraded UniTree to Nota (https://launchpad.net/nota) which is more like ZIM, even more simplistic.

I would not recommend to drive ZIM in the direction of UniTree because it may become over-complicate for 95% of the users. One could rather write a new tool that implements the logic of UniTree.

Can you help with this problem?
