Is it possible to disable autoformatting?

Asked by calexu

First of all: Thank you for this great program. :-)

Autoformat is usually a nice feature. However, in some cases, e.g. if you want to write down some code or words using Zim code letters, it would be nice if it could be switched off.

In DokuWiki, you may use <nowiki>text</nowiki> to keep the text as you typed it without being converted according to the wiki syntax. Is there a similiar tag or code in Zim, too?

Also, if I do not want to link something, I cannot remove the link which was created automatically. Clicking the link icon or editing the link properties does not have any effect.

I know from the help file text document, that you may use '' resp. ''' for formatting text as code (which would be the same like the <code></code> tags in Dokuwiki), and this may be a workaround for some time, but I would really be happy if autoformatting could be switched off for some words or rows, while the text format remains the same.

I use Ubuntu 9.04 and Zim 0.27 from the Ubuntu repository.

Did you check the preferences dialog ? There are quite some options
there to tune the autoformatting behavior.

The link button should help if the link is selected. If not that would
be a bug.

Thirdly if you press ^Z directly after autoformatting it undoes the
format and you can continue typing.

Can you help with this problem?
