Zim

Zim version with Ubunto 9.04

Asked by billio

The latest version of Ubuntu (Jaunty) installs version ZIM version 2.8 on one of my systems.

However on the other, after upgrading version 2.6 is still installed (according to the help about page).

Even if I re-install it using Synaptic, the version is still 2.6.

Any ideas ?.

Bill

Did you close zim completely during the update or reboot since ? Zim runs a background deamon that is still loaded in memory if it is not completely restarted after the upgrade. Using "quit" instead of "close" completely closes the background deamon.

Otherwise check if you are actually running the ubuntu installed version and not e.g. a version you installed manually. The command "which zim" should show the path to the binary, if this is outside /usr/bin changes are you are not running the ubunut version at all.

If both are not the case I'm at a loss as well.

PS. I assume you talk about 0.26 & 0.28 ;)

Can you help with this problem?
