Zim

Will zim move to python or is pyzim just a test of concept?

I just started browsing the zim code in Launchpad and found that pyzim branch. Could not find comments or notes that say anything about any move from perl to python. Maybe I have simply not found the proper page saying so. Not that it makes much difference to me which language powers zim, but I am curious what eventually lead to the switch.

Short answer: in about 6 months main release will be python based
