Shortcut for insert-link

Asked by Frank Uebel

Hi,
I use quite a lot of links between pages. Right now, I enter them directly via [[page|displayname]], since the insert-link menu option does not have a hotkey. <ctrl><alt>L seems to be free right now, so I would like to hear you opinion, if that could be used as a hotkey. It seems to be just a simple one line change in Zim/GUI/PageView.pm:85 (v0.27), though I have not worked with Gtk2 before and do not know, if there are any caveats. I have tried it on my sources and it works (apparently).
What do you think?

Regards, Frank

Actually you can customize the key bindings for menu items without diving into the source. Have a look at the manual page about key bindings, there is a section about "accelerators" which describes how to do that.

Ok, I must have missed that. Now I feed stupid for answering something that is in the manual.

One thing, though. With my Gnome desktop (Ubuntu 8.10, default install), the gtkrc-file did not have any effect, but setting /desktop/gnome/interface/can_change_accels to 1 in gconf-editor enabled the feature.

Thanks and sorry again, Frank
