Problem with copy paste to other program

Asked by akorx

Hi guys,

Sorry for my bad english, I'm french...

I've got a problem with zim : when I copy text that begins with a tabulation (from source) and paste to other program like notepad for example, the tab is copy too.

Is there a setting to ignore this tab when I do this copy?

Copy and paste content from one application to another is always a problem. Usually the user wants the content to assume the formatting of the target application, but sometimes the content brings together some formatting inherited from source application.
Each case can require a different solution. Sometimes there are controls embedded in the application which allows the user decide whether some formatting should be copied together or eliminated (special copy and paste).
I am not sure if Zim has a feature for this purpose, but in my case I use a third application to convert the copied content into plain text before pasting it to another application. There are many small and free applications available for this purpose. If I can give you a suggestion, my preferred is Flashnote because it starts with system, remains in background and comes up with <Alt>+S keys. It is my main tool for copying and pasting text between applications and also for scratching quick notes. Windows and Linux versions are available.

Can you help with this problem?
