Notebook on Onedrive is read only

Asked by Sunil

I am running Zim Desktop (portable version) on my local drive on Windows 7. I have a notebook created in the local drive (C:) and it works fine. However, I created a notebook on my OneDrive folder which is mapped as "Y:\Documents\WikiLibrary\WorkLibrary" drive in Windows Explorer. The notebook creates fine but it seems to only open in read-only mode. The "Notebook Editable" button is greyed out.

Since it is my Onedrive, I can add and edit files in the folder where the notebook is stored - therefore it is not a read-only issue. Interestingly Zim created the notebook folder as well as the "notebook.zim" file and the ".zim" folder.

Therefore question is can I use Zim Desktop where my notebook is sitting on Onedrive? The obvious reason is that my notebook is stored on Onedrive as a backup.

Thanks
Sunil

I don't know if this answer can help you, but I am also using Zim notebook stored in OneDrive folder and it is working perfectly.
What are the differences? I am using Zim Desktop 0.65 installable, on Windows 10 Home, and OneDrive folder is inside C:\Users\UserName\ path.

I map to Onedrive using webdav - i.e. as a mapped drive (Y: drive) rather than using the OneDrive app.

In Windows explorer the name of the mapped drive (i.e. the server name) is \\d.docs.live.net@SSL.

The article "http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/map-onedrive-network-drive" shows you how I set it up.
