Zim

Zim expects notebook in old location, even after move

Asked by niKDo

Hello,

first off, an awesome program. Loving it!

I have recently moved my wiki notebook to a different location. I edited even the ~/.config/zim/notebooks.list to have the notebooks point to the right location. I also deleted the cache in ~/.cache/zim.

When I launch zim (in ubuntu) it works. However if I launch it with the pluging for capture in firefox, or if I run the command line for quick note (tied to a shortcut) it does not work. It still looks for old notebook:

zim --plugin quicknote --basename "Title" --notebook XYZ --page 1_Inbox --append false --input clipboard
WARNING: Could not find all icon sizes for the application icon
ERROR: No such file: /home/username/Notebooks/XYZ

I am very confused about this. Does notebooks.list get rebuilt? If so, from where? It is as if there is yet another location for some base directory that got save upon running zim the first time and that config gets used all the time and I cannot seem to override it. Any advice would be appreciated.

By the way, I read the entire online zim wiki, the FAQ's, and searched everywhere on the answers and mailing list but did not find the answer.

Thank you!

The file you are looking for is "/home/username/.config/zim/notebooks.list"

In the user interface you have the notebook dialog that you get when opening zim with multiple notebooks, or with the "open other notebook" menu option. This dialog allows changing the list.
