How does in-line Latex support work?

Asked by AT

Zim seems to have some in-line Latex support that I haven't been able to find any documentation on.

I mean the following: sometimes when I type (e.g.) \neq it will get replaced automatically with a "not equals" sign. Same thing with \alpha, \beta, subscripts, etc.

This is distinct from the "Insert Equation" functionality because it happens in-line and automatically.

I think its a great feature, but it does not seem to work reliably or predictably---or perhaps I don't understand how it works. Can you provide any additional information on this feature?

THe behavior you are mentioning is inspired by latex, but not using latex
actually. Have a look at the "insert symbol" plugin.
