Zim

Set notation becomes a broken link after reopening page

Asked by Zachs Kappler

I'm using Zim Desktop Wiki to take notes for a discrete structures class and it's been working great until a week ago. whenever I define a set, I have to use the curly brackets like this:

S={a, b, c}
{{a}{b}{c}
{a, b}{a, c}{b, c}
{a, b, c}}

After closing the program and reopening it the next day, the possible subsets becomes a few page icons with a red x on them.
Is this a special formatting Zim uses for something else?

Yes, the "{{filename}}" notation is used in the wiki syntax to include
images. Since in your case the "filename" is some other text, you get a
"file not found" icon instead of an image.

The solution is to insert this kind of notation using "verbatim" format
(Ctrl-T), this keeps it unformatted as typed and will apply a mono-space
font that may improve readability of these kind of notations.
