Zim

can't start source editor

Asked by Bill Hickok

Using ZimWiki in Windows 7 SP1, neither the source editor or graphviz can be used.

1. selecting menu Tools; edit source, I see a message box, "Failed running: <Ctrl>P
closing this shows a second message box "Editing file: Change_Notes.txt you are editing a file iin an external application.
You can close this dialog when you are done." No editor opens.

2.for Graphviz; selecting menu Edit;Preferences; then tab Plugins;
  the righthand pane says under dependencies , in red; "• GraphViz - Failed"

How do I make my editor, and graphviz, visible to ZimWiki?

Sounds like two different questions to me ...

Looks like you have an editor which fails for some reason after zim
thinks it has started. Probably the log has some output - see
%TMP%/zim.log - you can also try running "zim.exe -D" to get more
output in the log.

This means the "dot.exe" command is not found at all. See this mailing
list thread for details:
